English: This is a place which will remind us of an unfortunate father who was imprisoned by his own son. Bimbisar jail is a prison where king Bimbisar (558 BC - 491 BC) was kept by his own son Ajatashatru (492 BC - 460 BC) so that he can enjoy the privilege of being on the throne. Interestingly, the site was selected by the kind himself so that he could have the privilege of watching the ascent of Lord Buddha everyday to the mountain retreat at Griddhakuta hill.
