Summary
DescriptionRadha Govinda Temple Bishnupur, Bankura, Westbengal, India.jpg |
English: Another marvel of terra-cottah(burnt-brick) architecture from the Malla period. This laterite “eka-ratna” temple was built in the year 1729 A.D. by the Malla king Krishna Singha. The square structure stands on a raised plinth and is about 12.4 mtr. on each side and 10.7m in height and has a curved roof, on which stands a single tower or “Shikhara”. The temple is decorated with bas-relief carvings, originally applied with stucco works.Inside the temple complex, just beside the temple there stands a small brick chariot in the form of a small temple.
