Description
English: The racemization equilibrium reaction rate is affected by the methyl substituents on the 4 and 5 positions. For example, the deuterium isotopolog (X = 2H aka D) racemizes faster than the normal (X = 1H) isotopolog resulting in a steric isotope effect.
