Original Author: Jaune Quick-To-See Smith Date of Creation: 2023 Purpose: Illustrates a work of art specified in the page "Cahokia," the subject of the painting. The work itself describes the relationship between Native Americans today and the ancient city in the contemporary United States. It both illustrates the current, wide-ranging relationship descendant communities have to the site and is a manifestation of those relationships.
