English: Bookplate of Sir William Purves-Hume-Campbell, 6th Baronet (1767–1833). Quarterly, 1. quarterly, i. and iiii., vert, a lion rampant argent (Hume) ; ii. and iii., argent, three popinjays vert (Pepdie) ; 2. gyronny of eight or and sable, within a bordure gules, charged with eight scallops of the first, a canton gyronny of the third and ermine (Campbell of Cessnock) ; 3. azure, on a fesse between three mascles argent, as many cinquefoils of the first (Purves) ; 4. quarterly, i. and iiii., gules, three piles engrailed argent (Polwarth) ; ii. and iii., argent, a cross engrailed azure (Sinclair of Hermiston), over all, en surtout, an escutcheon argent, charged with an orange slipped and imperially crowned proper (an honourable augmentation granted by Royal Warrant in 1690). Crest—On a wreath of his liveries, a dexter arm issuing from a heart, and grasping a scimitar proper. Motto—"Fides probata coronat."
