Deutsch: Gedenkstein für St. Wolfgang vor dem Altar der Kloster- und Filialkirche in der oberösterreichischen Gemeinde Pupping. Der heilige Wolfgang und Bischof von Regensburg starb am 31. Oktober 994 im Alter von 70 Jahren vor dem Altar der 866 errichteten Othmarkapelle in Pupping. An dieser Stelle wurde ab 1477 ein Kloster erbaut, jedoch nach der Aufhebung 1786 um die 18./19. Jahrhundertwende abgerissen. In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts errichtete man an gleicher Stelle ein neues Kloster in deren Kirche ein Gedenkstein an den Sterbeort des hl. Wolfgang erinnert. |
