View SE, towards Bridgend, Cardiff etc.;ex-Great Western South Wales main line. By 1962 many BR(WR) express services employed Diesels: here we have Beyer-Peacock Hymek 1,700 hp Type 3 (later Class 35) B-B Diesel-Hydraulic No. D7023. The express had left Pembroke Dock at 13.05, was not stopping here and would reach Paddington at 19.45. The station is in progress of rebuilding. Behind is Mynydd Dinas (258m).
