Summary

Description
English: This charcuterie board has been prepared for passing through a thickness planer without being affected by snipe. Pieces of wood (“snipe blocks”) are attached to the leading and trailing ends so that they will precede and follow the board and ensure that both feed rollers are lifted from their stops the whole time that the board is under the cutter head. Snipe will occur on the blocks, but not on the board itself. Snipe blocks can be attached with double-sided adhesive tape if they are long enough that they could safely pass through the planer on their own. Otherwise, they need only be longer than the expected snipe but must be secured to the board so that they are very unlikely to detach (for example, glued). Snipe blocks can be reused for any number of boards of similar thickness.
