Nederlands: Khalil Patrona, voormalig zeesoldaat, die sultan Ahmed III van de troon stootte en Mahmud I voor hem in de plaats verhief, 28 februari 1730.
English: Portrait of Patrona Khalil, a former marine who instigated a mob uprising that replaced Sultan Ahmed III with Mahmud I, on February 28, 1730. Standing, full-length, with a sword in his right hand lifted, with some of his followers on the right. In the background a view of the courtyard of the Serail, with the bodies of people killed in the coup to be carried away. Part of a series of paintings with Turkish subjects from Turkey to the Netherlands by Cornelis Calkoen the ambassador and his cousin Nicholas in 1817 gelegateerd to the Executive Board of the Levant Schenardi Commerce in Amsterdam.
