| Description |
English: WATTS CAMPBELL SPECIALIZED IN BUILDING STEAM ENGINES AND IN REBUILDING OLD MACHINES. THE SECTION CURRENTLY ABUTTING MCCARTER HIGHWAY, STILL EXTANT, WAS THE FABRICATION DIVISION. DUE TO MANAGEMENT'S INABILITY TO UPGRADE EQUIPMENT, THE FACTORY GRADUALLY LOST CUSTOMERS DUE TO AGING AND SOMETIMES OUTDATED MACHINERY. AFTER HURRICANE SANDY A LARGE PORTION OF THE ROOF COLLAPSED, EXPOSING MANY OF THE HISTORIC MACHINES TO THE ELEMENTS. THE FACTORY IS NOW LARGELY UNOCCUPIED AND IN RAPIDLY DECAYING CONDITION

REF. # 86001503 CURRENTLY THERE IS AN INTERIOR PICTURE OF THIS SITE SHOWING THE OLD DECAYING AND RUSTING MACHINERY. THIS IS AN EXTERIOR PICTURE OF THE DECAYING BUILDING WHICH MIGHT BE OF SOME INTEREST AS ADDITIONAL PICTURES. ON THE RIGHT IF YOU BLOW UP THE PICTURE PORTION OF THE SIGN STILL LEFT SHOWS "CAMPBELL" AND THE ADDRESS OF 1270.
