ผู้มีสิทธิ์ประดับจะต้องผ่านการทดสอบต่าง ๆ อย่างเข้มงวด ผ่านการโดดร่มแบบสายกระตุกคงที่มาก่อน จึงมาทำการฝึกแบบโดดร่มแบบกระตุกเอง โดยจะต้องหน่วงเวลาไม่ต่ำกว่า 15 วินาทีก่อนจะกางร่ม มีชื่อเรียกโดยลำลองว่า ปีกร่มดาวดำ และ หลักสูตร SKY English: PARU First Class parachutist Badge.
