The rural shacktown of Olivehurst is situated two and one-half miles from this town, beyond the incorporated district. Marysville is now the trading center of the important peach growing section of the Sacramento Valley. Established in 1848, it was a boom town during the early mining days. The squatter settlement photographed...is located on the right bank of middle bridge, or D St. Bridge.... A fast developing rural shacktown, Linda, seen in distance at right. (English)
