English: The sculpture Old Square by Kenneth Budd, 1967, cast brass and iron on fibreglass, 152 cm x 793 cm, in Old Square, Birmingham, England. Moved from the demolished Old Square subway and re-mounted in the new Old Square. Photographed by me 16 October 2006. Oosoom

  • depiction of the elopement of Lloyd's daughter
  • Priestley Riots, 1791, which tried to destroy the home of Dr William Withering (No 15)
  • a horse and broken carriage which crashed into the railings of the square
  • William Scholefield (No 1), first mayor of Birmingham, 1838
  • demolition of the square in 1896 as part of the Joseph Chamberlain Corporation Street improvements
