Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Picture of three of Mira Schendel's artworks, all titled Objeto gráfico (1967-1968, 1967-1968, and 1972), at Glenstone in Potomac, Maryland, in 2023. Three square graphic artworks, composed of fields of letters, words, and phrases in black font on white backgrounds, hang together in a row from the ceiling, attached via imperceptible strings clipped to the top corners of each work. The work on the left features lines of hand-scrawled phrases and words in five messy, overlapping columns. The work in the center features individual letters repeating thousands of times, mostly in small, handwritten lines that overlap and fill the entire work, in addition to several large, seemingly typed individual letters and numbers, the largest of which is a typed "A" near the center of the work. The work on the right features hundreds of typed individual letters, arranged to create a spiral that begins as a dense jumble of letters in the center and dissipates into more spaced-out letters at the edges. Each work is created with transparent acrylic sheets, so the white color of the wall behind the works shows through in the background.
