DescriptionNyamirwa River In Bunyakiri, Kalehe Territory, DR Congo.jpg
English: The Nyamirwa River flows gracefully through the picturesque town of Bunyakiri, nestled amidst towering plateaus and lush, verdant trees in the Kalehe Territory of the South Kivu Province. Serving as a lifeline for the local population, this vital waterway is relied upon for numerous purposes, including the consumption of food, refreshing showers, and the cleansing of clothes, among countless other essential activities.
Captured on September 12, 2014, during my journey to this resilient town, the photograph encapsulates the unique blend of beauty and adversity that coexisted within its borders, as it remained a steadfast haven amidst the presence of various armed groups.
