These two books define the North Shore as the older monied villages and towns on the lake just north of Chicago: Evanston, Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, Highwood, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff. They do not include any inland suburbs nor do they include Waukegan or Zion.
