Description
An Australian test cricket 'baggy green' cap of dark green felt material with a rigid peak. An embroidered badge at the front features an unofficial Australian coat of arms in yellow, red, white and blue. The internal lining is of black wool. The cap was worn by Greg Chappell as captain of the Australian cricket team during the 1982-83 series against England. In the is in the National Historical Collection of the National Museum of Australia.

Object history The items in the Swan Richards Collection relate to the history of Australian cricket from the end of the Second World War to the 1980s. During these five decades cricket changed immensely, from a game played by amateur sportsmen to one played by professional sportsmen in a commercial atmosphere.
