DescriptionNational Maritime Museum, FHD0009 - Figurehead of the River Lune.jpg
English: In dense fog, the iron barque River Lune struck the Brothers Rocks, west of St. Agnes, Isles of Scilly, in July 1879. The crew abandoned the sinking ship but were later able to return to collect personal belongings from the half-flooded wreck. This fetched £55 for salvage, and the figurehead was saved.
