Tanque AMX-30, con cañón de 105 mm. El Ejército español compró en mayo de 1970 19 unidades de este carro francés para usarlos en el Sáhara, con un esquema desértico. Desde 1974 fueron construidos en España 280 tanques más con licencia siendo denominados AMX-30E. En 1988 se inició un proceso de modernización de 149 tanques a la versión AMX-30ER1. Fue la espina dorsal del Arma de Caballería española. A comienzos de la década de 1990 empezaron a ser sustituidos por tanques M-60, y a partir de 1994 se inició su reemplazo definitivo por tanques Leopard II alemanes y blindados B-1 Centauro italianos para las unidades de caballería. En el museo de El Goloso se conservan tres de estos tanques, uno de ellos del lote inicial comprado a Francia (aún se pueden ver restos de la pintura desértica original en su coraza). Since 1974, 280 tanks were built in Spain under license being called AMX-30E. In 1988 began a process of modernization of 149 tanks to AMX-30ER1 version. It was the backbone of the Spanish Cavalry. In the early 1990s began to be replaced by M-60 tanks, and from 1994 began its final replacement by German Leopard II tanks and Italian armored vehicles B-1 Centauro for cavalry units. In the museum of El Goloso retains three of these tanks, one initial batch purchased from France (you can still see remnants of the original desert painting in his armor). |
