English: While working for the WPA, Mitchell Jamieson lived in Charlotte Amalie with the family of Philip M. Erickson, the US government architect in the Virgin Islands.

Source The artist, Mitchell Jamieson, gave this self-portrait to Andrew S.E. Erickson's grandmother Eva Erickson in 1935 with permission to use any way she saw fit. The work remains in the Erickson collection.
