Zócalo（中央大廣場）是全墨西哥城的心臟地帶，早在印地安人的年代，這裡就一直是提諾契特蘭（Tenochtitlan）文明的行政與信仰中心。今日在這廣場旁我們可以看到墨西哥的總統府、中南美洲最大的大都會教堂（La Catedral Metropolitana）、古代印地安神殿遺跡Templo Mayor，與許多重要的政府機關與博物館。附近地區擁擠的人潮與驚人的車流，也是墨西哥城嚴重的交通擁塞與空氣污染極佳的縮影寫照。
