N - Normal track speed (Clear)
L - Limited Speed
M - Medium Speed
R - Restricted Speed
INOP - Cab signals inoperative (cut-out due to failure, or train is traveling in non-cab signal territory)
TEST - Test mode selected and underway
VZ - Velocity Zero (train is moving, but so slowly the speedometer registers 0)
BA - Brake Application was made

Note: The actual "normal track speed" varies by location as indicated by company (employee) time table and any applicable train order(s).
