Summary

Description Drawing of the anthropoid coffin fragment inscribed with the name of the pharaoh Menkaura. A "replacemnt" coffin, stylistically dated to the Saite period, some two millenia after the king's death. Original drawing made by excavator Richard Vyse and published in 1840.
