Description
English: The portrait is made by the painter and engraver Joséphine Raoul-Rochette (1817-1893), wife of Luigi Calamatta, painter. She is the pupil of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, granddaughter of sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon and mother-in-law of Maurice Sand. He is the eldest son of George Sand (1804-1876) and Baron Casimir Dudevant (1795-1871).
Français : Le portrait est réalisé par la peintre et graveuse Joséphine Raoul-Rochette (1817-1893), épouse de Luigi Calamatta, artiste-peintre. Elle est l'élève de Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, petite-fille du sculpteur Jean-Antoine Houdon et belle-mère de Maurice Sand. Celui-ci est le fils aîné de George Sand (1804-1876) et du baron Casimir Dudevant (1795-1871).
