English: Portrait in the Calle de Sor Francisca Armendáriz in Cartagena (Spain) of the chemist and poetess María Cegarra. The work was created in 2021 by the artist Clara Ledo as part of the municipal divulgation project "Huellas de mujer. Cartagena en femenino".

The text that accompanies the portrait reads:

Ana María Otilia Cegarra Salcedo. She was born in La Unión in 1899 and graduated in Chemical Sciences. She was the first female perito químico in Spain. She had her own mining-oriented chemical analysis laboratory.

She was a teacher for 40 years in different educational centers in Cartagena. Her other vocation was poetry, thus being the author of four books of poems.

She passed away in Murcia in 1993.

Español: Retrato en la calle de Sor Francisca Armendáriz de Cartagena (España) de la química y poetisa María Cegarra. La obra fue creada en 2021 por la artista Clara Ledo como parte del proyecto municipal de divulgación «Huellas de mujer. Cartagena en femenino».

En el texto que acompaña al retrato se lee:

Ana María Otilia Cegarra Salcedo. Nacida en La Unión en 1899 y licenciada en Ciencias Químicas. Fue la primera mujer perito químico en España. Tuvo su propio laboratorio de análisis químicos orientados a la explotación minera.

Fue docente durante 40 años en distintos centros de enseñanza de Cartagena. Su otra vocación fue la poesía, siendo así autora de 4 libros de poemas.

Falleció en Murcia en 1993.
