English: Map of New Orleans showing proposed drainage system, 1895.
The system was built much like this, the major exception being that the plan was to drain the city via canals along Broad Avenue out to Bayou Bienvenue. However with the building of Industrial Canal, the system was reworked to drain most of the City to Lake Pontchartrain. |
