English: Maastricht, the Netherlands. View towards the East of Plein 1992, the main square of the Céramique neighbourhood on the East bank of the river Meuse, named after the Treaty of Maastricht (1992). The square was designed in the late 1990s by Dutch architect Jo Coenen, as well as several buildings around it, including the Centre Céramique library on the right. To the left: part of La Résidence by Swiss architect Aurelio Galfetti and French architect Yann Keromnes. Behind it: Toren van Siza ("Siza's Tower") by Álvaro Siza Vieira. At the far end: a fragment of La Fortezza by Mario Botta. |
