English: MIlestone, Rochdale Road, Sowerby This is one of the best of the milestones on this road, which escaped replacement by the county council in the late 19C. A mile back towards Halifax an unfortunate milestone is buried up to its neck in tarmac, the level of the road and footway having been raised. |
