Português: A série documental "Livros do Banguê" é composta por 11 volumes produzidos entre os anos de 1742 e 1856. Os livros eram destinados ao registro do transporte de escravizados e indigentes falecidos até a sepultura, atividade realizada exclusivamente pela Santa Casa de Misericórdia da Bahia. O registro é composto pelo seguinte conjunto de informações: data, nome do falecido, do solicitante, valor do pagamento, embarcação ou local de falecimento e por vezes a reprodução das marcas feitas com ferro que alguns falecidos traziam em seus corpos. Por sua relevância e singularidade a coleção foi premiada pela UNESCO com o título de "Memória do Mundo". |
