Description
English: This was the first modern iron-smelting blast furnace in Australia. The new blast furnace has just entered production. The outdoor pig casting are is in the foreground. On the left, two of the stoves are visible. The blast furnace itself is the large cylindrical structure just to the right of centre, with the inclined downcomer pipe carrying furnace off-gases. The structure on the right is the material elevator used to lift the ore and other materials to be charged to the furnace.
