DescriptionLieutenant Adolphus August Frederick FitzGeorge, of H.M.S. Galatea, 1868 - photographer Montagu Scott of Sydney (4324737756).jpg
English: Viewers might be surprised to discover that Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, commander of Galatea, was not the only royal to visit Australia in 1867-1868. Lieutenant FitzGeorge was the second son of HRH Duke of Cambridge and an actress, and a great grandson of George III, and so was a second cousin to Alfred, who was the second son of Queen Victoria. FitzGeorge was not entitled to any royal prerogatives or titles. He became a rear admiral in the Royal Navy later.
