Le château de Charlottenburg coté parc

Ce palais baroque résulte de plusieurs phases de construction.

La première construction a été une résidence d'été, conçue par l'architecte Johann Arnold Nering, en 1695 dans le village de Lützow, pour la seconde épouse de l'électeur Frédéric III : Sophie-Charlotte (1668-1705).

En 1701, la résidence est agrandie au moment où l'électeur devient Roi de Prusse sous le nom de Frédéric 1er.

Au 18ème siècle, le château est agrandi par l'adjonction successive de deux ailes, il est entouré d'un vaste parc. Un faubourg résidentiel s'est développé autour du château aux 18ème et 19ème siècles. La commune a été rattachée à Berlin en 1920.

Touché par les bombardements de la dernière guerre, le château a été reconstruit à l'identique. site sur le château
