English: Kathryn R. "Kay" Poland (née Kennedy; 1919-2010) was an American politician. Poland was appointed to the Alaska Senate in 1970 to replace her husband, William Merle "Bill" Poland, after he suffered a heart attack and resigned. Representing Kodiak, Alaska and surrounding area, she was elected in her own right and served until running as an independent candidate for lieutenant governor in the Alaska gubernatorial election, 1978.
