Deutsch: Detail einer großen Kalktuffnase, Teil des mächtigen Kalktuffvorkommens des Gütersteiner Wasserfalls, Schwäbische Alb, nahe Bad Urach. Zwischen den Moospflänzchen wird der in den Gesteinsschichten der Alb aufgelöste Kalk beim Herabrieseln wieder chemisch ausgefällt und umkrustet allmählich die weiter wachsenden Moose. Mehrere Karstquellen entspringen als Schichtquellen des „Seichten Karsts“ aus dem Hang, der sich unterhalb der steilen Traufkante befindet. Traufkante, Wald und Quellspalten befinden sich noch im Naturschutzgebiet Rutschen. Die Quellen treten aus dem Mittleren Weißjura-Mergel zur Unteren Felsenkalk-Formation (ki1 und ki2) aus. Unmittelbar unterhalb der Quellen entstand im frühen Holozän, als Sedimentation, eine große Terrasse aus rezentem Kalktuff. Am Rand dieser „Hochwiese“ entstand die Kalktuffnase. The tufa nose is a sediment, which precipitats chemically from freshwater at ambient temperature. karst springs emerge from rock walls of the „Albtrauf“ (escarpment of the Swabian Alb). At this location the water formed a large terrace of Kalktuff. Beyond the terrace the water’s calcium carbonate precipitates over fresh moss and produces a continually growing bulge, before the water drips down a steep slope. On the slope more calcium carbonate is precipitated and a rich vegetation develops amongst the sludgy mass. The location is called “Gütersteiner Wasserfall”. |
