| Description |
English: Proportions of votes for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the 2009 Iranian presidential election selected according to whether or not the first digit in the vote count for Mehdi Karroubi is 7 or not. Voting areas selected by the Karroubi 7 are shown as blue + symbols, while "normal" voting areas are shown as green circles.
The information content is equivalent to that of Figure 8 in http://arXiv.org/abs/0906.2789v2, but the particular style of presentation is different. This figure may be useful for the article 2009 Iranian presidential election. The data in the table are (or were) available from the Iranian Ministry of Interior at http://www.moi.ir/ostan.xls, and should remain archived at https://www.webcitation.org/5hYWBcT7w. What is surprising is that three of the six most populous voting areas all satisfy the "Karroubi 7" criterion, and they all give higher voting fractions for Ahmadinejad than the other three of the six most populous voting areas. |
