Description
English: John Storer was a rich businessman from Maine who put up a $10,000 matching grant to help the Freewill Baptists improve Nathan Brackett's Store mission school in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The Baltists raised donations, mortgaged assets and sought government funds to reach their goal the day before Storer’s offer expired. The school became Storer College. (Description source: NPS)
