![]() This media file has been nominated for deletion since 26 January 2025. To discuss it, please visit the nomination page.
Do not remove this tag until the deletion nomination is closed. Reason for the nomination: There are multiple related deletion discussions I opened including Commons:Deletion requests/File:David Reynoso, c. 1960s.jpg, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Hermanos Valdés en 1958.jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Rafael Alcayde, Miroslava Stern y Arturo de Córdova en Cinco rostros de mujer (1947) (cropped) (cropped).jpg as far as I can remember. They all relate to the same issue. The government of Mexico City take multiple pictures at a museum. The pictures are film stills, posters and promotional pictures. They uploaded the pictures under a free license, as well as Mexico being covered by freedom of panorama. This caused an incorrect interpretation of what freedom of panorama means. As a consequence, several of these files were first uploaded as cropped files, which is valid, but they have low resolution, naturally because they are not the main subject of the file. However, Loki et al then uploaded the high resolution files under the same license claiming that the Mexican freedom of panorama applied to such files, when it is not the case. I cannot go to Times Square, New York, and take a picture and then upload that picture for free and then upload the actual posters, logos, videos, promotional images, etc that happened to be there at the moment I took the photo and claim that their copyright is mine because the US has freedom of panorama (hypotetically). Please note that this nomination isa request to revdel all the files that are not the files that Tania Victoria took, but the files subsequently uploaded that are not covered by the FOP law.
