Summary

Description Jesmond Dene is one of the Ouseburn Parks, near Jesmond in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Land was given to William Armstrong as a wedding present in 1835. He planted hundreds of shrubs and laid miles of paths, built a grotto, many bridges and a waterfall on the Ouse Burn. The Armstrong Bridge that used to take the Coast Road has now been replaced, and is open sole for pedestrians.
