This is a 10-Core Westmere-EX cpu. It took the automated system 2hrs and 50mins to collect all 777 photos. I fixed the auto-focus issue that impacted the previous die-shot of the broadwell cpu. The issue was that I assumed that the cpus are perfectly flat and that I would only need to correct for levelling issues. In reality, larger chips like this bow enough to cause problems with the focus. I fixed it by swtiching from using a single focus plane with only 3 calibration points to allowing for the collection of extra calibration points and creating a triangular mesh between them. (Flickr wasn't letting me upload a copy with more than 14.9K pixels wide, sorry) |
