English: Inondations de Fevrier 1876: Paris: Looking across wide expanse of water towards row of cafes along water's edge on opposite side, barges moored on left.
Français : Inondations de Février 1876: Paris: Vue à travers grande étendue d'eau vers un alignement de cafés sur le rivage opposé, péniches au mouillage à gauche. - Informations complémentaires: établissements alignées de gauche à droite sont Aux Marronniers, Ancienne Maison des Maronniers, Hôtel des Deux Perdrix, au numéro 11 Café de Bercy avec inscriptions Café Billards et au dessus de la porte Morsaline, au numéro 12/13 Café Lyonnais avec inscripton Billards et échoppes au rez-de-chaussée dont une avec une enseigne de tabac, l'autre indiquée comme boulangerie; entre les numéros 11 et 12 panneau Dolleans. Plus loin vers l'aval hangar Fortin, entrée grillagée Berdon [?], suivi d'un Entrepôt d'Eaux de Vie et d'une maison à quatre niveaux avec inscription Au Cercle. A hauteur du no 11 ponton d'accostage avec cabanon portant les inscriptions Bercy et Salle d'attente. A droite barges dont certaines chargées de tonneaux le long du quai. |

Album with leather covered cardboard covers, 148 cardboard leaves holding 69 albumen silver print photographs on one side of leaf only. Individual titles and official photographer stamped below image. Title embossed on front cover with seal of the City of Paris in gilt ink ; title also on spine. Label inside front cover reads: Presented to the Public Library &c Victoria on the eighth day of April 1881 by the Government of France. Hand inscribed note on first page of album upper left: Presented April 8th 1881 [illegible]. Photographs various sizes 38 x 27 cm. and smaller. |
