English: Satirical illustration of the Great Comet of 1865, on the cover of the Brazilian magazine Semana Illustrada n.217, of 5 February 1865. The caption contains the dialog between two people, where one explains that the comet is running away from war – presumably the Uruguayan War and the Paraguayan War, which Brazil would be fighting at the time.
Português: Ilustração satírica do Grande Cometa de 1865, na capa da revista brasileira Semana Illustrada n.217, de 5 de fevereiro de 1865. A legenda possui o diálogo entre duas pessoas, em que uma explica que o cometa está fugindo da guerra – presume-se que a Guerra do Uruguai e a Guerra do Paraguai, que o Brasil estaria lutando na época.
