Description
English: Kabuki portrait featuring Ichikawa Danjuro VIII on stage during a kojo or formal stage announcement, bowing as he greets the audience at the New Year at the Nakamura Theater in conjunction with the play "Matsu Icho Tsurukame." He wears a rust colored kamishimo over a black kimono with his crest on the sleeves and shoulders, the crest repeated in alternating blocks running across the top of the page.
