English: I. B. Francis (Isaac B. Francis) was a black pioneer, merchant, and early resident of Portland, Oregon. He and his brother A.H. and their families were threatened with expulsion because of Oregon's 1849 black exclusion law. This is an advertisement for I.B.'s store on Front Street. First published in The Oregonian in 1852, recently published in Notable Women of Portland (2017).
