Summary

Description
English: Prussian-derived Class G8.2 (DRG Class 56.30). Steam locomotive 56 3007 built 1929 for the Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn with 3T20 tender. About 1004 steam locomotives G8.2 were built 1919-29, 846 for Prussia, including 5 for Oldenburg with Lentz valve gear, (DRG Class 56.20), 8 for LBE and 150 for Romania and Turkey. Steam locomotives G8.2 were two cylinder versions of 185 three cylinder steam locomotives G8.3 built 1918-1920, which had a a heavier axle loading and restricted route availability. Steam locomotives DRG Class 56.30 were considerably different from the pure steam locomotive G8.2 with longer boiler. The last 56.30 was withdrawn by Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1951, by Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1956. As for steam locomotives DRG Class 56.20, the last Deutsche Bundesbahn loco was withdrawn in 1965, the last Deutsche Reichsbahn one in about 1972. At Darmstadt.
