Summary

Description
English: High Bridge, Shropshire Union Canal The Shropshire Union Canal was built relatively late in the canal building era, and with more of an eye to speed of transit than some of the earlier waterways. Consequently, rather than follow the contours of the land, this canal makes use of embankments and cuttings as much as possible to give a straighter line and relatively few locks. Woodseaves Cutting, which stretches for about two miles south of Tyrley locks, is deep and narrow - this unusual bridge spans the cutting to provide farm access. Note there are two "High Bridges" - No. 39 and No. 57 - this one is 57
