Description

Image of some of the participants in the Herne Bay Pageant of 1937, written and directed by Will Scott (1893-1964).

Back row, left to right: Lawrence Noble, Eileen Wilson, John Hawkins, Owen Williams, Benny Blackbourn, Dorothy Newson, Mildred Gurling, Peter Hayward, A.E. Gurling, Ken Cartwright, Paddy Gannon, E.G. David.

Grouped on the steps: Jean Frankling, Phyllis Palmer, Edith O'Brian, Joan Wilson, Margot Bisping.

Image quality: This image first appeared in the souvenir programme of 1937, then was reproduced in the Herne Bay Gazette on 8 January 1998 on page 8 in the "Remembeer When?" column. It was then microfilmed, then photocopied by Herne Bay Library. What you see here is a scan of the photocopy, which accounts for the poor quality of reproduction.
