Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Holit massacre |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | It will be the main image of the article in the infobox above the map currently there. The article was just closed as "keep" in an AfD because it meets WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS. However a major issue of concern was that that it was not balanced sufficiently. Most articles of this nature do not contain sections related to calls for ceasefire or peace activism because these views have not widely been reported in reliable resources. Hayim and his sibling’s peace activism, and calls by his family for a ceasefire and peace, even after his killing, are notably covered. This provides an opportunity for these views to form a portion of the article. Using this picture of Hayim actively volunteering in peace work, highlights an alternate view which balances the article. I have searched everywhere I can think of for a free-use image of the image, but can’t find any. Most images of Hayim are closeups of him (supplied by his family) which wouldn’t be suitable for the purpose. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
Hayim Katsman was killed on 7 October 2023. There cannot be any free-use images of him in future. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | The only uses for this file can be this article, and Hayim’s personal article on Wikipedia (which is under debate for notability). He is only WK:N for the Holit event and for his academic work covered in his personal article. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
Noy Katsman supplied the image to illustrate an article they wrote for "The Nation" highlighting their and their late brothers peace activism. Noy doesn’t seem to want to commercially benefit from the picture but rather to spread their message of cease fire / peace. The image will be used similarly in the article. |
