English: The stern view of the HMS Intrepid, a 64-gun third rate ship of the line, which was captured from the French at the Battle of Cape Finisterre in 1747, with an anachronistic flag added by a much later colourist.

Author Richard Short, engraved by John Boydell. Coloured much later (19th century or later); the colourist has added an anachronistic St Patrick's saltire to the British flag which is not present in the original engraving.
