Description
English: An example of (from left to right) a Howardite, Eucrite and Diogenite meteorite: the H-E-D in the HED meteorites group. They are believed to be samples from asteroid (4) Vesta, representing the surface breccia (H), surface basalt flow (E) and deeper plutonics from deep in a magma chamber (D).
Nederlands: Een voorbeeld van (van links naar rechts) een Howardiet, Eucriet en Diogeniet: de H-E-D in de HED meteoriet-groep. Men denkt dat ze monsters van de planetoïde (4) Vesta zijn, respectievelijk de oppervlakte breccia (H), oppervlakte basalt (E) en dieper plutonisch gesteente uit een magmakamer (D).
