Description
English: Elevation and floor plan of the Hôtel de Bourbon-Condé. The plan of the ground floor of the corps de logis, when enlarged to full resolution, shows: "D", entry hall; "E" and "F", reception rooms; "G", dining room; "H", main salon; "I", main bedroom; "P", staircases. This plan does not faithfully represent the final design of the building in all details. Other plans, e.g., those at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (see ground-level and superior floor plans and elevations), differ in details. For instance, the steps leading into the entry hall, which in this plan are depicted as rectangular, but are curved in the actual building (see satellite view at Google Maps), are shown as curved in the ground-floor plan at the Bibliothèque nationale. Also, the bas-relief sculptures by Clodion, which were to be added to the walls of the interior courtyard, were "fancifully interpreted" in this elevation [Parker (1967), p. 231].
